  Become an actor!

Carolyn Keston
Name   June Rose
    Artistic Director
Carolyn Keston
Name   Carolyn Keston
Choreographer, Head of Dance and Musical Theatre at Redroofs
What do you do?   My job as a choreographer at the Novello means that I create and stage all the musical numbers, songs and dances, which are performed  in our musical shows, pantomimes, and variety shows. I can turn my hand (or foot!) to pretty well anything such as ballet, modern, song and dance, but I just love tap dance.
Novello shows   Loads, including Annie, Rumpeltstiltskin, Alice in Wonderland, Once Upon a Time, Paddington Bear, The Little Princess, at least nine pantos, and every show with dancers in it (and some without) since 1988!
Other interests   Walking my golden retriever dog Alfie, teaching dance, and making even the most unlikely actors with two left feet and three right feet look like brilliant dancers.
Who I admire   Anyone who manages to make my routines look great!
Advice   Get the best possible dance training you can in as many different dance styles as possible. Practise creating dances to all sorts of music, whenever you have the chance. It doesn't matter if you just experiment on your Mum or your friends, but just keep doing it. Remember you don't have to be the greatest dancer yourself and the nice thing is you can sit back and relax to watch your masterpieces while all your dancers are high kicking and sweating !
